Volunteer Registration

The Geelong Jazz and Blues Festival is looking for volunteers!!

We will be scheduling volunteers in four-hour shifts. Select any shifts you can be available for and please indicate any preferences in the message box (eg. "Happy to do more than one shift", "Can do either day, but not both", "Please roster me with Bob", etc).

You will be provided with a wristband for access to the Festival for the remainder of the day of your shift. You will also be provided with a festival T-shirt (hence the request for T-shirt size, below).

A volunteer training session will be conducted in the week before the festival.

DOOR ATTENDANTS
We need volunteers to work on the door, checking wristbands to let ticket-holders and artists into venues and tracking the number of people in and out of each venue. You will be stationed at a venue entrance and should expect to stand for most of your shift.

STAGEHANDS
This is more of a stage manager role, ensuring each artist starts and finishes on time.  A small amount of backup gear is kept for emergencies and you might need to retrieve that in the event of equipment failures. Otherwise, lifting/moving gear is not expected to be required.  Each stage has a dedicated sound engineer who might ask for assistance with tasks like running cables, positioning mic stands, etc.

THE HUB
This is where people will come to collect wristbands and buy artist merch. We will also be providing secure storage for artist gear. This will likely be frantically busy. We need volunteers who can work quickly and accurately under pressure, and deal with people patiently and efficiently.
