Apex Swing brings a warm, gutsy blend of swing jazz, blues and gospel, moving easily between soulful storytelling and bright, toe tapping energy. The quartet features timeless songs such as The Way You Look Tonight, Baby Won’t You Please Come Home, I’ve Got a Crush on You, Shoo Shoo Baby, I’m Troubled, I Wish I Knew What It Means to Be Free and the playful My Man’s an Undertaker.

Based in Geelong, the group features pianist Felix Blatt, vocalist Liz Bonner, and well known jazz identities Will Purcell on guitar and Rob Gador on bass. Formed in 2023, Apex Swing began with a shared vision to honour early and contemporary swing styles shaped by artists like Nat King Cole, Catherine Russell and Nina Simone.

Over time, the band broadened its sound to include blues infused and gospel rooted pieces alongside its swing repertoire. Apex Swing has performed at venues and festivals including The Door Gallery, Beav’s Bar, The Green Room Wine and Whiskey Bar and the Port Fairy Jazz Festival.
